akunderhile I've had this on vinyl for about a year. Just discovered the DL code in the jacket. Most of the reviews of this album use the word "icy." I don't know what else to say. It's accurate. Hard to pick a favorite. Favorite track: The Ancestor’s Path.

sachavonkarl74 If you imagine Canada as being the equivalent of Northern Europe's winter, darkness, cold, and awesome melodic black metal bands keeping that flame alive, you could consider Arctos as one of those "authentic" black metal outfits carrying forward the Scandinavian school while innovating with more prog elements and enchanting melodies. Really dig the intro track, not an easy task to keep things interesting and flowing for almost 11 minutes, but these guys easily pulled it off. Can't wait for more! Favorite track: The Ancestor’s Path.

bmurator Canadian Melodic Black Metal! This is a stellar album from start to end & there are *no* fillers whatsoever here. The emotions & the music is almost too much at times - but I still hit that repeat button! Plus there is a new album on the way from what I read... :) Yes please! I shall definitely be there for an instabuy! Highly recommended!!!

about

Arctos is the voice of the mountains, the call of the rising wild.

Inspired by the Godless wastelands of Northern Alberta as well as the jagged monoliths of the Canadian Rockies, Arctos brings together a unique blend of sounds to craft a form of Black Metal rife with atmosphere and melody. Formed in 2014 by a group of veteran musicians, Arctos is well steeped in musical tradition.

With the 2017 release of their debut EP “A Spire Silent”, Arctos stepped into the light after almost three years of writing in secret. Arctos was finally unleashed upon the public and laid waste with their brand of savage Northern Black Metal

In September 2019, after years of successful shows and touring across Western Canada, Arctos finally release their debut full length “Beyond the Grasp of Mortal Hands” and continue to set their sights ever higher.
